If needed, you can change the postage method used for a given fulfilment group on a Shopify order. When taking this action, we encourage you to check the postage subtotal for the order so you can note any differences in actual costs when changing the postage method.
The change of postage method is carried out on Ochre - but if you wish to refund / charge the Customer for any difference in postage value, you can do so from Shopify.
Change the postage method of a fulfilment group:
- Find the order in Ochre Admin, and navigate to the fulfilment group you wish to change.
- Check that the fulfilment group has not been dispatched yet. If it has, changes to the postage method should not be attempted.
- Select the ‘Change Postage Method’ action from the actions menu within the fulfilment group.
- Review the current postage method, and select the desired postage method for the fulfilment group. Please note any differences in cost.
- Save changes.
From here, Ochre will automatically manage the changes needed to related shipments. Please note that no further actions can be taken on the related order while these steps complete:
- If any shipment exists for the fulfilment group, it will be cancelled (and cancellation confirmed at the warehouse);
- After shipment cancellation, a new shipment will be created at the warehouse (and receipt of new shipment confirmed at the warehouse).
- If the previous shipment was in an ‘On Hold’ state, the new shipment will also be placed into an ‘On Hold’ state. Otherwise, fulfilment will continue as normal.
