It is possible to change the address where a Shopify order is shipped to. This is typically done at the Customer’s request. At this time, our integration with Shopify doesn’t permit writing back changes to the order itself, but the action can still be accomplished.
Please note: postage costs may increase to ship to the new address - any additional charges you wish to make to the Customer must be done on the Shopify side.
To change the order shipping address:
- First, check the status of the order in Ochre to ensure the order has not yet shipped. If the order has been dispatched, changes to the shipping address will not have any effect.
- Check if any shipments for the order have been created. If they have, you will need to cancel them first.
- a) Within the white shipment box at the bottom of the page click the shipment ID 'Shipment 0000000'
b) On the shipment page go to Actions > Cancel. The cancellation will be requested.
c) If successful, the shipment will be marked as cancelled - Select the ‘Change Shipping Address’ button on the order detail page, and enter the new address details. Be careful to check for typos as there is currently no address validation.
- If you wish to keep Shopify data aligned with Ochre (which we strongly recommend), navigate to the order on Shopify and select ‘Edit Address’ and update with the same address.
